Objective
The
Social Media Experiment is a project whose goal is to
expand our understanding of the social interactions that occur on the internet every day.
Phase one focuses on Twitter.
The goal of this phase is to better understand the means by which trends
and information travel through Twitter. We will study retweets,
links, favorites, mentions, lists, and their role in the propagation of information.
At the conclusion of Phase One, we will have a better understanding of the
dynamics that contribute to the success of Twitter's community. Our observations will
be published in a free report soon after.
